Except their Tegra line.... Whenever it decides to actually hit, will screw over any other mobile processing line.

Quit if apple haters, theres one thing Apple offers on their laptops that nobody else does thats well worth the damn price, and thats 24 hour full service that offers up to full or partial replacement. Yeah your gonna say your laptop doesn't break, but what if you live in it, what if under your job you don't notice the price, are you gonna be pissed when your HP suddenly fries on you? "Whoops, we will send you a service box which you should get in a week, then you have to wait a month to get service, then another week for shipping back" Thats Apples main selling point, people understand that. And the fact that their devices just WORK, and Apple is damn happy to give you a free 90$ charger thats been out of warranty just for customer satisfaction gives it a damn good name. We aren't fan boys, we aren't apples bitches, we aren't being ripped off, you are.

This article really kills me. Did Tom's get bored and just want to do something to bring all the fanboys out? They seem to have done a great job, and there's boys from Intel, AMD, Nvidia, AND Apple here...Ahhhh...Meeting of the minds.

My opinion about this "move" that Apple could be doing is along the lines of another post. Lower power, good perfomance? Makes sense to me. Apple has a huge sell-point with regards to battery life, and moving to Radeon for video cards would only help that. For now. We'll see what happens IF they make that move, though. Seems to be working in the desktop segment. :)

[citation][nom]dEAne[/nom]Bad news for nvidia, that means nvidia should work harder to get apple's attention on it's graphics card.[/citation]

Maybe nVidia should work harder on business relations....

Dell offers the option of service (repair or replacement) at home after remote diagnosis. its an option, and you pay form it but still, you pay less than you would pay for a Mac.

[citation][nom]killbits[/nom]this is like saying, because Hitler founded Volkswagen I'm only going to drive a Ford Pinto.you fail at logic.[/citation]

Unless he is a current Mac user that is indicating he will switch to windows. Then the logic is solid.

Apple has done this for many years, switch back and forth and sometimes offer both Nvidia and AMD at the same time. They just use what they think is the best at the time. Processors are a different story and I hear AMD may get some of their CPUs into Macs soon too.

two things, no on the charger, i know quite a few mac owners, and 3 of them all had their charger crap out, and no, they did not get a free one, they shelled out 90 bucks for the silly magnetic charger that is only "magic" if you are clumsy and irresponisble with your personal property.

and 2, apple doesn't offer things in laptops I can get from other suppliers. say idk, maybe a bluray drive, 1080p screen on something smaller than 17" (im not lugging that thing around), bluetooth, hdmi out (if its soo great at media), a quad core cpu, a removable battery so i can carry a fully charged spare.

and i won't even beat the dead horse that is price

So, Cnet believes they will switch to AMD graphics. This means nothing at all. They could believe anything they wanted, that doesn't make it true, it doesn't even mean that apple is actually contemplating it.

Uh-oh, does this mean Intel is going to be sued by Apple pretty soon? Or is Apple looking to make up a reason to sue AMD?

I can assume it is because AMD's GPUs are more energy friendly than NVs. Apple likes to maintain long battery life and currently NVs GPUs are too power hungry.

AMD doesn't need that dirty money.
HAaahaa, funniest sh* I have read today, made me laugh.
Maybe they'll eventually go to AMD CPUs as well for the Fusion - much higher-end integrated graphics which should be a game changer especially for an OEM like Apple. We'll see if Intel's integrated graphics can compete with price/performance.

I have my reservations in integrated graphics with the CPU's. Some apps and games that I like to play are not that friendly towards these kinds of chips. I'd rather hold out on it till it's standard.
