Apple... New ??? Bwahahaha !!! You mean they're not just going to shrink their current crap down into a smaller more trendy package like they have been for the past 5 years ? Apple is on a down hill slide that will not stop until they are right back in the dark little hole they crawled out of. People are realizing that jobs was a con artist with a knack for selling polished turds. People are finally starting to see beyond the smooth talking and slick marketing and realize that other manufacturers make 5X the product for half the price. It's pretty sad that it took this long for the masses to realize that a $3,000 mac pro getting CRUSHED by an $800 PC was a bad thing...

No, this isn't contradictory. It even says in the article that the carriers providing incentive to salespeople for not selling iPhones is what prompted the summit in the first place...

This means they are not pleased with the sales in the carrier stores and are looking for alternatives.

They're not pleased with the sales from the carrier stores, got that, but then they claim their own stores don't sell as much as the carriers. That IS contradictory complaining, and if they think that pissing off the carriers they'll somehow gain the sales leadership, that will only happen because the carriers drop sales below the iStores, not because somehow the iStores will sell more than carrier stores.
Just applying some logic here, not that I care what happens to iSales...
