Appraise my system?

I'm selling my PC so I'm looking to see in how much I can sell it, of course my objective is in selling it and still get some profit over of what I spent and on building it as well, I built it myself so I didn't had to take that much out of the budget.

Forgot to add:

8 GB (2x4GB) G.Skill Ares Series
250 GB HDD

Is that the highest I could sell it for? because I wanted to.. I don't know get some profit so I can build another system, and still be with something left so I can keep selling and saving, repeating that until I can get the rig of my dreams that I have always wanted, does it works like that?

I don't think computers work like that.. buying second handed will always be cheaper so how can you profit? Just save up a little more

Alright, well I thought otherwise :S I guess I will have to sell that one and save up a bit to get a the system I want :\
