Hello forum

im looking forward to buy an arctic freezer 34 esports But the duo version with 2 fans is not available in Germany for the next 10 days.
The cooler has to cool the ryzen 3600X so I need good Performance.

the Arctic freezer 34 esport Version with one fan ist available right now

does someone know how the Arctic freezer 34 with one fan performs compared to the version with two fans ?

is it worth it to wait until the duo version is available again ? Or is the single fan version as good as the version with 2 fans ?

Pretty much ALL coolers have about a 1-3 degree difference using push pull versus push or pull, alone. I wouldn't worry about getting the dual fan model if it's not readily available and at least reasonably close to the price of the single fan model. Especially not a budget cooler like that. There might be a bigger difference when you start talking about coolers with twin or triple finstacks, but for a slim single finstack cooler, one fan is good enough. You'd see a bigger improvement with a higher static pressure, higher CFM fan, than by adding a second fan, anyhow.

And obviously that's something you can do at any time after purchasing the cooler if you feel you need to.

Thanks for the quick response

do you have any proves for this ? Like a benchmark ?

I have the Freezer 33 eSports with 8 core 1800X and my CPU max at 59C in Prime95 max heat/stress test. Its the single fan version, the dual fan version is not worth it unless the price difference is 10$ or less. The Noctua is better but its double the price. The Freezer will be perfect for your 3600X because it can cool 210W while your CPU is 95W. You can obviously overclock great with it.

Well, I've been building systems, and reading reviews, and testing cooling hardware in the hundreds off systems that I've built over the last 30+ years that I've been doing this, so I guess that ought to count for something.

If you are so experienced Can you tell me if the Arctic freezer 34 solo fan is the best cpu cooler for 30€ or is there a better one in the same price range ?

i just want to keep my ryzen 3600x cool enough that the cpu can run on maximum speed while Gaming

for reference in this test he uses Stock cooler and the cpu doesn’t run at full speed (higher temperature)

While in this test he uses an be quiet cooler and the cpu runs at full speed (lower temperature)

Don’t want to sacrifice performance.

What ACTUAL country are you in, or, what country can you reasonably purchase from. The reason I ask, is because obviously there are MANY countries that use Euros and the availability and price of hardware from country to country is wildly different. What is available in Germany may not be available in Italy. What is available in Denmark might not be the best option in the UK or France. And so on.

At that price, it's probably a tossup between that cooler and the Scythe Katana 5. For about 10 more euros you could get a moderately better cooler, but for your CPU that cooler is probably fine if you are not intending to set an all core overclock that exceeds the all core stock boost.

Hers a review with the eSports and Katana, it seems the eSports is better. They have the Dark Rock 3 which is on par with the 33 esports. The pure rock has a cooling TDP of 150W so the Freezer eSports is better at 210W. The Noctua is the best air cooler it can compete with AIO watercooling.

No, I do not believe that the Pure Rock is a better choice. I think you are better off sticking with what you planned unless you are able to raise the budget for a better cooler. If so, this would be a really good option.

why you you thin the pure rock is worse than the arctic freezer ?

In this Video the Arctic rock cools down the ryzen 3600 to 50 degrees
Saw no test where the arctic freezer was able to manage this low temps under load
Or am I missing something ?

(@Darkbreeze I don’t want to test you , I’m just interested In how you come to the conclusion that the arctic freezer 34 single fan is better )

By the way the arctic freezer DUO is available again for me at Germany
SO I WILL BUY THE DUO VERSION ITS JUST 5€ more expensive

But the arctic freezer duo/ single fan is better than the be quiet pure rock ?

None of those videos tell you what the ambient temperature is, so they are worthless. Less than worthless. Unless you are looking at a lab comparison from a trustworthy reviewer, what you see, is not what you see. Worthless.

For five extra euros, yes, I'd probably go with the dual fan model BUT if you can afford an extra five euros, then you can probably afford to wait just a little longer, save a few more bucks up and get that Thermalright Macho Rev. B which is a FAR better cooler and will absolutely take any sort of thermal issues completely out of any equation with that CPU, to a degree of course, including any overclocking scenarios that might be realistic.
