Arctic Silver 2-Step cleaning solution seeped underneath CPU

Reapplied Arctic Silver 5 and went a little overboard with the application of it. As you can see from the pics quite a lot of material got underneath the CPU... After several failed OCing attempts mobo wouldn't post, produced a C0 error code and troubleshooting all morning has led me here. I'm confident I can clean the back of the CPU but how should I clean the CPU socket? I know its delicate...

grab some ispropalyne alcohol 90% and a cue tip or a cotton ball will get it off safely with out causing damage to anything
