arduino uno vs bread board gpio pins

i want to know what is a arduino board and what is its connection with raspberry pi? Is it a register board for interfacing? I dont know anything about it i am confused between between a gpio board and arduino. Also, what the the hell is a gpio board?

The arduino is more of a micro-controller. The raspberry PI is a system on a chip. Raspberry runs a full linux O/S. Arduino has its own realtime operating system and development language.
