Are 1155 coolers compatible with 2011?

I read in one review that it's the same connectors, but I wanted a definitive answer before buying an $80 CPU Cooler: are LGA 1155 coolers compatible with the new LGA 2011?

You need to get a specific mounting bracket for 2011.

thermaltake and noctua provide free mounting brackets for LGA 011

Yep...it all depends on the cooler. The one I bought for 1155/56 also fits on 775/1366 using different brackets. It will tell you if it fits. $25 was all I paid...not sure you need an $80 cooler...Mine kept the i5 at 27C and it didn't go much higher under load.

I have not looked at every cooler...but just google 2011 heatsinks.

I bought this - COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus. It's huge but works very well and it dead silent.

I'm looking at the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608019 with the $600 2011 processor. I'm planning to be able to leave my computer rendering all night, so I do want a good cooler to prevent heat buildup. The Noctua is top in both quiteness and coolness, according to Frostytech.

I would expect most makers will start shipping replenishment stock with LGA 2011 brackets very soon.
Many are offering free brackets with proof of purchase,including Coolermaster.
