Are Acer laptops really that bad?

I spent the last 12 hours looking for a good notebook to buy under 650 euro and I narrowed it down to 3 laptops.

The best one of them all is the Acer Aspire E5-575G, really good performance for a really good price.

I'd just go with that one if not for two things, one being it not looking too good looking compared to the other two (Lenovo IdeaPad 310 & 510) and second and most important: People seem to hate Acer laptops. Because they are apparently unreliable and broke too easly.

Now I never had this kind of problem myself, i have a 7 year old lcd acer monitor and it still works as a charm as a second monitor.

But all these stories and rumors about Acer products are really putting me off from buying the Acer Aspire.

Another thing to note is that all the reviews for the Acer Aspire E5-575G seem pretty good.

The second and third choice to the Acer under 650 euros are only Lenovo IdeaPad 310 and 510, but they are both inperfect when it comes to specs compared to that Acer and they cost more.

Should I just lisen to people and stay away from the Acer Aspire E5-575G and all Acer products, or should I just go for it anyway?

Solution
Not sure why the repeated bumping as again, as since Acer doesn't actually make a laptop, can't that they make anything better or worse than than anyone else.

Tho to be fair, TS is pretty much a souls stealing experience at every mass market vendor.

Compare that with Clevo distributors

It can be an amusing experience when listing to peeps argue about what brand **makes** a better laptop when the reality is neither of them actually makes a laptop and often the two models in question will be made using many of the same parts on the same production lines.

The vast majority of laptops on the market are manufactured by a small handful of Taiwan-based Original Design Manufacturers (ODM), although their production bases are located mostly in mainland China.

Major relationships include:

Quanta sells to (among others) HP, Lenovo, Apple, Acer, Toshiba, Dell, Sony, Fujitsu and NEC
Compal sells to (among others) Acer, Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo and HP/Compaq
Wistron (former manufacturing & design division of Acer) sells to Dell, Acer, Lenovo and HP
Inventec sells to Toshiba, HP, Dell and Lenovo
Pegatron sells to Asus, Toshiba, Apple, Dell and Acer
Foxconn sells to Asus, Dell, HP and Apple
Flextronics (former Arima Computer Corporation notebook division) sells to HP
Clevo sells to boutique gaming / hi end vendors such as Alienware (pre-Dell), VoodooPC, WidowPC, FalconNorthwest as well as their retail arm, sager.

With Celovo there are no set specs as you basically pick a basic "barebones" basic design and then they put in whatever components you like and you get a much better warranty than the mass market brands.

Prices start at £360 (430 Euro) including VAT and delivery.. and they have distributors in 50 countries. I guessed and picked a UK one. Here in US, I never have been able to find a mass market brand match a custom Clevo brand and with Clevo, you run no risk of substandard componentry ... the mass market guys like to name CPU / GPU, then basically use no name brands for the rest.

Note also that a) Clevo prohibits distributors from **advertising below set limits for each model, but they are free to negotiate individually by e-mail or phone and b) paying by means other than credit card saves money (I use a business check)

MERGED QUESTION
Question from Mathue24 : "Acer laptops really that bad?"

the only thing i do not like about acer laptops is that most (if not all) of there laptops now come with non removable batteries. if that isn't a problem for you i'd say go for it

Im not sure if its removable, but people seem to praise it for having 8-12 hours of battery life even with a 940MX present.
