Are all 980ti variants able to go fanless?

I know some GPU manufacturers like Asus and MSI have fanless modes out of the box on their 980 tis. What I'd like to know is if there is a way to make any 980ti have a fanless mode when under a certain temperature? I remember a while back hearing about BIOS updates for some cards (like EVGA I believe), but I also remember hearing about any 980ti being able to run fanlessly but I don't remember how it was accomplished. This all came about because I'd really like to get the Zotac 980ti AMP! Extreme but just found out that it doesn't offer fanless operation, and my next choice, the ASUS Strix, is a red and black theme which clashes with my build.

So I know I kind of rambled on for a whole paragraph, but my questions are basically this:

1) If any card can be ran fanlessly, how do I go about doing it?
2) If not, can you recommend an all-black (or mostly black) card that does?
3) How good are the EVGA Classified ACX 2.0s? (Cooling, performance, build quality?)

Thank you guys for any help you can offer =)

Solution
Not all cards can do fanless mode, good chances are that if it can't do fanless mode, it is a hardware issue. However, there are a few cards like you said that need a BIOS update for it to work.

Thanks for the reply man, I appreciate it.

I'll do some more research on the EVGA Classified, since that's the only black card that offers a fanless mode, and see how well it performs compared to my other graphics card choices.
