I am going to be building a new PC after my exams. This is going to my build up till now:
Asus prime z270-ar mono
Asus gtx1060 dual
650w thermaltake PSU (80+bronze)
Intel i5-7500
Bitfendix comrade case
240gb sata3 ssd
G.skill Trident z 8x2 16gb 3000mhz
As you can see I will be using 2 part from Asus. My friends have told that Asus use cheap materials and have a short lifespan. Is there any truth to this? Also any improvements? I am on a 1200 euro budget, but less is better. Tks

ASUS is a respectable and fairly reliable brand.

As for lifespan...you can never really tell. At best, a manufacturer can tell you is its theoretically maximum life span. Electronic components may last a day, a year, a decade, or maybe even century and before kicking the bucket. There are just too many factors that affect the life span of any given component.

Your best bet is to make sure you keep them adequately cooled and don't subject them to physical abuse. It may also be wise to invest in a surge protect power strip for extra insurance.
