Are Bards really lucky with items?

Hello, I'm relatively new to ADOM and this newsgroup. But enough about
me, and more on this topic :)

I played as a bard, ignored Terinyo and went straight to the Small
Cave. After I killed a goblin, I picked up everything on sight in the
room. There was a halberd and I equipped it without bothering to
identify. Then, to my great surprise, it was a balanced eternium
halberd (+14,4d7+8)(it was uncursed bec I took it off as soon as I
equipped it). It's not much(or is it?), but considering that I was just
experience level 1 and starting off, I think I was very lucky.

I'm not sure if this is normal(to be very luck with items as a bard),
so I'm asking. Is it normal? :\

Thanks for the info.

Well I wouldn't say it's entierly normal, but yes, bards do tend to find
better items than most.

The small cave is somewhat special too though, quite frequently a very
good weapon will be generated in there on your first visit regardles of
class. Bards are good for the SMC though. Besides the higher chance to get
good items they can also easily explore the entire cave by having theyr
companion(s) do the fighting so they don't end up leveling up to fast in
there.
