Priorities in that order.
1)School work including MS word, powerpoint, email etc.
2)Youtube playback and games like warthunder, fallout 4,wot, and overwatch.
3)Light video editing very ocassionally.

Needs dedicated gpu, room to add ssd, and price under 625 ish. The other laptop i was looking at went up a couple hundred bucks.

Will ask about the discount.

Do you know about the thermals and battery life of the GF63?
I was looking at the ASUS FX504, but the battery life and thermals were pretty bad from what i heard. I figured msi would be better thermally since they know what they are doing, also it has a supposedly more efficient turing max-q gou.

The specs look okay. Not the strongest reviews out there (not exact model as above, but in same family)...

The current gen MSI GF 63 seems to be a great laptop. Comes with GTX 1650 and 512 GB SSD. Probably the lightest gaming laptop but obviously doesn't have a numpad which could be a deal breaker. Battery life, i'm guessing 5 hours, but it greatly depends on use.

I have, but the $699 g5 starts with a smaller ssd and older gpu than the msi which costs $625 after the 15% discount code.

$699 is a little out of price range anyhow. Under $600 is best, but can go slightly higher.
Any other alternatives? Was looking at a nitro 5 i5+1050ti for $580 but the deal expired.
