Are graphics drivers for Intel processors necesarry if I have a dedicated graphics card?

I recently upgraded to an Intel i7 4790 k with a better motherboard from my old AMD build. After installing the drivers I noticed that one was the Intel HD Graphics Driver. This processor has integrated graphics but I don't want to use it. Since I have an Nvidia graphics card, do I need to have the intel HD graphics driver installed?

Is this driver for the integrated graphics or are they necessary for my computer?

No, you don't need them if you have a dedicated graphics card.

They don't hurt to install though, as it gives you a fallback if your dedicated GPU fails for any reason.
