It is a fair enough topic, Intel have priced the i3's and Dual Core i5's at a level that doesn't seem to make much sense.Wow, 11-12 pages later and the OP (doive1231) still has not replied. Its amazing that even veterans and moderators of this forum still respond to this thread, its obvious the OP just created his account to start a flame war and it partially worked.
Speaking of Celerons and Semprons.
The Semprons were always AMDs budget range but its reputation is still intact, even the AMD Duron still has a good reputation. Why is the Celerons reputation shitted on when AMDs budget names "Duron/Sempron" is still highly respect. I never truly understood that within the IT community.

With today's generation of AMD CPUs, do you think it was a mistake to release the Propus cores (no L3) quad cores under the Athlon II brand, my feeling is that the Athlon brand as a whole is a premium name, they should of put the Propus core on the Sempron or Duron brand.

Probably because Intel varied the performance of the Celeron vs Pentium/Core 2 so often, that sometimes it was quite good and other times atrocious.Speaking of Celerons and Semprons.

I really liked the Athlon and Duron names and hate the Phleanom and Simperon names. Also
