Are my CPU and GPU compatable?

I have a pc running a pentium t4200 and I want to buy a ASUS Strix Radeon R7 370 4GB GDDR5 GPU. Will these be compatable or will I need to buy a Nvidia gpu?

They will be compatible, but your CPU is old. So with a card like that, you will be able to play older games at high quality, but most of the new games will not run or run poorly because of slow CPU.

Thanks so much I was not sure if Radeon and Intel were compatable with an older cpu. Thanks for helping me understand that

The CPU is largely irrelevant as regards GPU compatibility - - what's more important is checking that the GPU is compatible with the existing motherboard & PSU.
