Are my Strix 970's too hot?

I'm using CPUID HW Monitor and MSI Afterburner to monitor my temps.

I often get temps in the 80s (celcius) while playing on ultra 1080p single monitor with SLI, and it just seems ridiculous...

I wonder if my SLI settings are optimal?
My cab is CM HAF X full tower with front/side sucking air in and back/top blowing it out

sounds about right.

nvidia gpus employ something called boost 2.0, which overclocks the gpu up to a "thermal" limit of 75C automatically, two cards in SLi will heat the air up a bit, so it's not surprising if the top card were to warm up a little more then 75C...

just so you know, gpus made by both nvidia and amd are safe up to 95C (though i probably wouldn't run them at that temp for extended periods of time, they should be good at any point under 90C for extended periods of time)
