Are My Video Cards Fried?

MB - Asus Maximus IV Extreme
2 Video Cards - Radeon HD6870
PSU - Ultra X4 1,200 Watt
Ram 16 gig GSkill
I installed Windows 8.1 4-5 weeks ago.
Installed Crossfire.
Everything has been working fine since I installed new OS but this morning I decided to enable Crossfire. Screen went black. Rebooted but same black screen.
I removed the 2nd video card etc. and hooked up only one video card. Same thing black screen. Tried the second video card by itself same problem.
My Motherboard gives AA error code but after googling it seems that it means operating system is up and running. When I reboot I get a check signal cable error on monitor. It seems that the computer has booted into windows just can't see it.

Looks more like a driver issue to me, AMD Drivers tend to crash when you enable/disable CrossFire. Try booting up your Windows in Safe Mode.

I agree with thenay. This sounds more like a driver issue, than a hardware issue. Can you get into Safe Mode?

Clear the CMOS by removing the battery for five mins. Take out and reseat the RAM sticks properly. Se you can get the display or not.

Thanks for the help. I received a tip that the HDMI cable might be bad and it was.
