are old vga cables same as today?

i have a cable from 2000 and a new one.do they have the same specs like bandwith etc?

yeah the same. however older cables are less reliable as the insulation can crack and oxidization occurs you will lose signal.

Chances are there will be no problems. Simply plug it in. Unless you see obvious visual issues you're good to go.
