I’ve been looking for a budget-friendly TV and came across Onn TVs, but I don’t know much about them. I’ve seen mixed reviews online—some people say they’re decent for the price, while others mention reliability issues.

I mainly need a TV for streaming and occasional gaming. Does anyone here have experience with Onn TVs? Are they worth it, or should I spend a bit more for a better brand? Any insights would be super helpful!

depends on the tv model and how much you wanna spend for it

if it works all is fine. reliability is bad in general with all TV manufacturer´s. warranty extension is always a good idea, if it´s not that expensive

yeah I get that all TVs have reliability issues but from what I’ve read Onn seems to be especially inconsistent. consumer reports says some models have okay picture quality but struggle with hdr and brightness. (https://www.consumerreports.org/ele...s/should-you-buy-walmart-onn-tvs-a1103076954/). plus, most Onn TVs rank in the lower half compared to brands with TVs in the same price class.

build quality isn’t great either. smart home scope said they use cheap plastic and the speakers are so bad that a soundbar is basically required. I guess if you just need a super cheap TV for basic streaming Onn might be fine but for the same price (maybe a bit more expensive), tcl, hisense, and even vizio have better options.
