Are Startech psu good?

I'm going to upgrade my pc and I have a 450w Startech psu in my old build. My old build was single core cpu,2gb ram,and 8800gt gpu,and I haven't had any problem with the psu so far.I'm going to upgrade to A8 7600 quad-core apu. I'm not sure whether to get a new psu or not.If I don't,I'd get to have 8gb ram but if I do,I'd only get 4gb (I'm going with 500w EVGA. I know that's overkilled,but that's the cheapest modern trustable psu I could find.) I wonder whether I should keep my old psu and just buy a 20pin-to-24pin adapter (my mobo would require 24 pin and my Startech only got 20) instead? Or should I go with a new psu and get 4gb of ram? Have you guys had any bad/good experience with Startech psu? What would you do if you were me?

Ehh, the PSU is pretty sketchy...

I would look into a 500 watt PSU from EVGA, XFX. SeaSonic, or Antec

I would stick with tier 2 and up but if you don't have a discreet graphics card tier 3 would be acceptable.

Startech is junk. Look in tier 5.

FYI rather than going for A8 , go for the latest Kaveri-based A-10 7800.

@abhisheksscorpion I will get a gpu later. I don't have that high budget to go for an A10 7800
