Are there any good SATA Docks that don't cost a fortune?

So, I have been having a lot of issues with data copies failing over a dock, I figured since the dock is old, and it was cheap at the time, that's likely the culprit.... and it's spring-loaded hinge broke just as I was wondering this.

So I figured, ok, time to replace it. Thing is, when I try to Google for good docks, I get all sorts of results in the $50-100 range.... I really can't afford an expensive one right now, plus, many of these even had poor reviews!

I have been seeing the name Wavlink pop up a lot, so I tried to get this:

But I am having second thoughts. I know there any product will have a few bad reviews from just plain bad batches or user error, but I saw some repeated reports (especially on Newegg) of this dock supposedly erasing the contents of a drive or breaking a few a few months. Some people also apparently claim that they were lying about the dock supporting drives over 2TB, but I am not sure if that was user error or not.

Does anyone have experience with this brand? Are they reliable or garbage? If so, can anyone recommend a USB 3.0 model that is not extremely expensive?

EDIT: I have had some people tell me that the JMicron JMS561U chipset it uses (As well as JMicron in general) is not that great. I didn't want to spend this much, but what about this one?:

It uses an ASM1156 which is supposedly pretty good. Apparently there is a newer version, the ASM1351, but I heard some people mention that the ASM1351 gets too hot dealing with SSDs and has overheated some of the docks, causing them to disconnect.
