I am planning on building my parents a computer as a gift and so I picked out some parts. I'm pretty sure it's okay. I just wanted more pairs of eyes looking at it to see if:
1) the parts are compatible
2) if there are any better components to be chosen

I would like to stay in this budget range. This PC will not be used for gaming
Any comments will help
Thanks

It's just going to be for mostly everyday browsing and stuff. There will be a few programs on it, but nothing big

Even though a quad core is nice, the pentium performs almost as well as amd quad cores at its price range. Plus the pentium is unlocked and you can overclock it to 4 ghz even on a low end board. The pentium should be good enough for normal web browsing and that kind of stuff. Another advantage is that the pentium in my experience outputs much less heat than amds.

But if you want to have a quad core, then I suggest getting this apu :http://www.amazon.com/AMD-Series-Graphics-Socket-AD7800YBJABOX/dp/B00LM5PDBS/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&qid=1413755089&sr=8-17&keywords=amd+apu

I would recommend this apu since you can just use the integrated graphics and skip buying a graphics card. Remember if you get this apu DONT BUY A GRAPHICS CARD.

Just pair the apu with this mobo and you're good: http://www.amazon.com/MSI-A78M-E35-Bolton-Micro-Motherboard/dp/B00HGLX8J6/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1413755184&sr=1-1&keywords=fm2%2B+motherboard

I never thought about that. Do you have any specific processors in mind?
And also that AMD APU just blows the budget. I'm trying to keep at about the $350 mark for everything, but thanks for that suggestion
