Hi. Im just wandering whether these temps are right for a A64 3700+ SD (at stock speeds) on a coolermaster hyper48 w/ stock 92mm fan.

Idle: 37c
Load: 41c

I paid £30 for this HSF and im not too convinced about the temps its making :?

PS: mobo is asrock939dual

There's no right or wrong answer to your question.

There are many factors influencing the temps (ambient temp, case ventilation, etc...). The temps you posted look fine, and there is plenty of overhead there to overclock if desired (I generally look to keep my cpu under 55C at full load).

The only real way to see if the CM hsf is performing better than stock is to also try with the stock hsf and see if there is a difference in temp.

Ive got exactly the same motherboard with a AMD 64 3800+ X2 and stock HSF

I get 30 idle and around 36 - 38 @ Full Load.

Them temps are fine - I never believed them at first - never thought a stock HSF would perform that well.

I don't know if these temps are right but my AMD 3000+ 1.8 GHz [overclocked to 2.0 GHz] has idle:~28 and full load: 37~40 without another cooler only with the stock.[I have Abit AN8 FATAL1TY SLi]
