I'm looking to buy a gaming pc (or parts) on a budget and I've been looking at used ones online. These two caught my attention. The only game I play is Dota 2 but I need to be able to run it at 2560x1600 resolution at highest graphics settings. Are these two builds able to do it and is the price being asked worth it? Any other considerations or cautions I should be aware of?

Nice CPU but the GPU won't do what you would like. On the other hand you could always upgrade in the future.

So we know some info, but really need to know the model.

The $700 one seems like a reasonable deal

I just bought an HP computer with:
Intel Core i5 4690S
8GB of ram
For $350 (Display model discount, Retail is $500)
Added a 250GB SSD for $75
---------
$425
Add $350 for a GTX 970 and better power supply
$775 and would beat both of those computers in most benchmarks

The RAM is 12 GB which isn't a matching set which means it would not run in dual channel mode. Won't be a huge performance hit but it's something to consider.

Solution
I would try and get an intel i5 based machine if possible, not that amd is bad just that intel is currently the better performer in games. I can't offer any specific help on DOTA2 or Canadian prices though I'm on the other side of the planet in New Zealand.

The biggest consideration between those 2 machines is probably the graphics card and the 7870 and 670 are close to each other with the 670 having an edge in most games so it's probably the better choice but I'm not sure that is $150 worth of difference.
