[SOLVED] Are you team red or blue?

Solution
Intel, from what I know, is running the game on consumer level flagship chips currently with the 9900k and the new i9s; pricey, but if you want the best you gotta pay. From what I have been told Intel chips out perform AMD as far as gaming performance directly compared between chips of similar stature. As far as mid pack chips (sub $200), I would say AMD probably has the range covered. Their performance per dollar ratio in the mid range is better than that of Intels and I would say the same about low end chips.

TLDR; I'd go Intel on $250+ chip, AMD on a ~$200 or lower chip. Haven't looked in a while but AMD boards were also slightly more expensive when I built (+/- 50$) Q2 2019.

I am also very unqualified so take this with a grain of...

Whichever has the best price/performance, right now it's AMD, so. I was Intel up until now, in no way an AMD loyalist.

If Intel were to release CPUs on the 7nm production process that have great performance for their price, I wouldn't hesitate to switch back. Consumers will always follow the price/performance.

For now, AMD is king. My 3900x coming up next month. 😛

This should be locked. There's enough threads like this with the 3 most popular answers being:
-whichever offers the user the best performance per currency
-users with more money than sense; just gets the most expensive thing because the most expensive product is the best, even if it may not suit their use case...
-loyalists/fanboys and girls

AMD has the best price/performance in the market at this time, my first AMD was a FX 8300 Vishera, pretty mediocre compared to the Intel i5 I also had (still have). So i have RED and BLUE in my house but my main build is AMD due to present upgrade paths to the 4000 series and value.
