Hello

I have tried to look this stuff up but I haven't had much success.... I would be very grateful for some help, and preferably - multiple opinions would be great.

I've just bought a TV, and a Soundbar with Sub - all second hand... but I seemed to be missing one of the 3x power cables needed, and the guy didn't tell me which ones go with what?

Obviously I will try and call him again, but I'm pretty sure he said he'd be away for a while with holidays. Besides, I'd also like a second opinion from you guys anyway.

BTW this is for Australia, 240v etc... keep that in mind ok.

I've bought a Sony Bravia x85k 43 inch Smart TV, and a JBL Bar 2.1 Deep Bass Sound Bar with Sub.

I've looked for Amperage/Voltage etc info on both the JBL Sound Bar and Sub, but they both just seem to say... "100 - 240V AC, ~ 50/60Hz, 100W" and nothing more?
Here is a photo. both devices say exactly the same thing...

I've looked at the funny symmetrical 2 'prong' (Stereo System style power cable) and they sav different things on either end of the cable (round fat plug end with metal prongs, and weird stubby stereo end).

Here are some photos from the two cables he gave me....

On the two power cables he did give me... they both say 10A, 250V on the round fat plug end with metal prongs end. Yet, for the weird stubby stereo ends, one says 2.5A and the other says 6A.

However, I don't know if they are even the right cables for either of the 3x devices?

And also remember, I still need one for the TV... or rather, 1 cable for the TV, and 2x (one each for the Sound Bar, and Sub)... and I have no idea which type of A and V is required for any of them (for either end)? I know from experience the fat end is usually 10A for guitar amps and things like that in Australia?

I've looked around the house and found a few similar cables, but with varying numbers on them, some are similar but have 6, or 7.5A on the weird stubby stereo end, I think one even had 7 or 7.5A on the round fat plug end with metal prongs end instead of 10A ?

Do I only have to make sure each cable satisfies the minimum A and V values for each device ( value as written on both ends of the cable respectively)... so that even if some of the values are higher than the minimum required - is that ok? Will it only use the power it needs?

I haven't included photos off the back of the Bravia as I can't get to it right now where it is - as my Dad is sleeping and it would wake him up. I did look at my similar 55 inch recent Bravia and I think that that was a 2.5A / 10A cable? Not sure if it'd be the same for all Bravias, regardless of size?

Thank you for your help

Here is power cord for your TV,
link: https://www.speedyspares.com/shop/power-cables/5042-sony-tv-power-cord-s0100563111.html

Your TV part number is KD-43X85K,

so, that cable is compatible.

As for speakers - that power cord i wasn't able to find (did find several on ebay but ebay listings can't be trusted).
Best to contact JBL and ask them.

For power cord, you want to have higher Amperage rating just in case. Since when you use lesser Amperage rating and device pulls more Amps than written on cable, you'll melt the cable.

So it doesn't matter, what cable is used on which device.
It does matter. Since when you use 2.5A rated cable on a device that pulls 5A, the cable on device's side will melt. So, proper is to use 6A rated cable.

Or let's put it other way; IF OPs cable does melt based on your suggestion that "it doesn't matter which cable", are you going to pay for OP's damage?
