Arma 3 CPU

Hello, I'm planning on upgrading my pc, I plan on getting a GTX 960 GPU, but I don't know what cpu to get. I mainly play arma 3 but with my current build I only get 20-30 fps with frequent drops.

So my budget for a cpu is $250, and I'd prefer Intel because I heard that AMD runs poorly on arma.(may be false)
