hello I have been trying for the past month to resolve some artifacts that happen in some games.
cpu
amd 5600 normally run overclocked using pbo. tried disabling pbo and setting to stock clocks did not resolve the issue. under clocking did not resolve issue.

ram
silicon power 3200mhz 32gb two kits of (8*2) confirmed good by multiple runs of memtest86 each stick tested individually and all together . happens the same with xmp enabled or disabled.

motherboard
gigabyte b550m ds3h ac running bios version f20d the latest version at the time of writing. updating the bios did not resolve issue. resetting cmos did not resolve issue

psu
thermal take gf3 750w this is brand new. i upgraded to it recently. previously had a thermaltake toughpower gx2. same issue on both.

ssds ADATA Legend 800 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive as the main drive to whitch i have windows installed on, and a crucial p3 500gb pcie 3.0 4x secondary drive

gpus
NVidia rtx 4070 super msi ventus 3x oc curent driver version 572.47. tried to reinstall drivers using ddu in safe mode did not resolve issues. tried using older drivers same problem.
tried to under clock vram same issues using msi afterburner . sent it in for rma when i got it back issues still occurred.

also have an rx 6700 10gb that is experiencing some but not all problems and to a much lesser extent. made Shure to use ddu in safe mode when switching between gpus.

I reinstalled windows 11 from a thumb drive when i redownloaded the games the issues remained. completly took computer apart and put back together same issue.

here are some videos showing the problems

this only happens on the nvidia card

please help i have tried every thing i could think of it diving me nuts.

Solution
found a little brush and carefully cleaned the pcie slot issues still there. i suspect its the cpu which has been overclocked its entire life is starting to go. to be honest i was preparing for a platform upgrade anyways that's why i bought the new psu. would it be wiser to upgrade to am5? then would it be okay to sell like the mother board and the cpu as fully functioning, or would i have to mark them as defective just to be safe?
AM5 is a solid platform, if you don't feel like doing any more troubleshooting, I would say go ahead and make the switch. You should notice a nice performance boost too depending on the cpu you pick. Question, are you using DLSS or FSR in these games?

i accidentally left frame gen on in spiderman but it happens when i turn it off as well. no matter which upscaler or aa i use same problem
A couple of things you could try. Turn off all upscaling, if you have another PCIE slot available, or another pc you can test with, use it to verify the GPU's work normally outside of the computer thats having problems. It wouldn't hurt to update your motherboard bios, and make sure resizable bar and above 4g encoding are enabled.

thank you so much for helping me. turning off upscaling results in same artifacts. my mother board does have two slots both result in same artifacts. lastest bios update is already installed rebar is enabled. sadly i don't know any body else with a computer. also View: https://imgur.com/a/lGiKZ3d this artifact happens on both gpus what could that mean ?

first of the bat could be system memory your using 2 kits of 8x2 which can be problematic even if its the same vendor theres zero guarantee that it wont cause issues.

also try this disable gpu acceleration on windows i have issues with it with hogwarts legacy causing artifcacts and slow down.

  1. Open Settings
  2. Select System
  3. Select Display
  4. Scroll down and click Graphics
  5. Click Change default graphics settings
  6. Toggle off the switch for Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling
  7. Restart your computer

make sure its rendering at the proper resolution

any upscaling is completely turned off hdr etc.

also you can try turning rebar on. which can help some games its found in bios.

I would definitely check the gpu scheduling like beyondlogic mentions, and you wouldn't happen to have another cpu thats 3000 series or newer available would you? You could swap cpu's to see if it still does it. Also for grins, do you have a soft brush available? You could try gently cleaning out the PCIE slot, and wiping clean the contact pins on the GPU's.

if anything it could really be a bug with the game as well not uncommon to find some games having bugs hell cyberpunk breaks everytime they up
I tried the gpu scheduling thing you suggested it helped with bad lods and super low quality textures. it did not resolve the flickering objects. it might be the game ,but a similar thing happens in red dead redemption 2. as to memory i removed all but one memory stick without using xmp just to be safe, but the issues remains. also tried each set of 2*8 ram individuality but the issue remains.

do you think it would make sense to buy like a cheap 3100x just to check? i have tried cleaning the gpus but not the slot i will try that.

If cleaning the slot and gpu connectors doesn't help, swapping the cpu may be worth a shot. If changing the cpu doesnt make a difference, then its your motherboard. I guess that kind of brings up the question though, any thoughts on a platform upgrade?

Thanks for all the help, and the excuse to upgrade.😄

before you run out new hardware.

try the following.

cap your framerate to whatever your monitors refresh rate is at you could be running at a much higher framerate.

if your monitor is 60 cap it to 60.

what is your monitors specs.

settings your using.
Hp x27q 1440p 165hz
Spiderman remastered all settings set to max. I tried caping it using riva tuner to 165 and 60 same result.
In rdr2 maxed except for tree tesselation
Changing the settings in those games didn't help. By change I mean set to lowest.
I really think this is a hardware issue no software solutions have helped much.
Thank you for all the help.

1 thing you can rule out is gpu.

next would be the cable.

i would use a better display port cable. also make sure the display port is properly plugged in.

this can happen for example as well.

for nvidia 4070 super.

then use nvidia control panel.
to make sure everythings at the right settings

I have not tried another display port cable but tried using a HDMI cable instead. Just to make sure it wasn't the monitor. i plugged it into my living room tv. All yield the same result the artifacts remain.
