I just recently got a hold of a t750 server , pretty much complete, my question is would it be possible to make it into a nice work station considering that its 10sh years old, k was planning on upgrading the cpu to x5570 or something higher if possible, it already has 6 ddr3 8g cards and the case is in pretty good shape, unfortunately I don't think I can just plug a graphics card considering that I would have to some how get power from the power supply.
Any help / info is helpful and appreciated. Thanks .

I'm not reading anything about a pci-e watt limit, so one can just drop a gpu with no additional power pins in the bottom pci-e x16 slot, albeit there may be clearance issue.
To get a higher watt gpu to work, one COULD use a 2xsata to pci-e, however sata connectors are not designed for a high load, so maybe an optimistic 120watt card using that approach.......but I still wouldn't recommend it. Otherwise, you'd probably have to use a second psu connected only to the gpu, that has the green(pwr_on) and black(ground) pins shorted either to the board or to itself(turns on with psu switch).

Dell documentation states support for the 5600 series, I have a x5660 which works well with a gtx 1060, so a 5670 or 5680 should be nice as well.
