Greeting to you all.

I have an ASUS m5a99fx pro 2.0. With 3 ssds and a DVD writer. And the motherboard got 6 sata connectors. 4 of which is AMD connectors and they are fully used (by the ssds and the writer)
and the two left are ASmedia connectors and here is the problem. I'm running out of storage so I'm buying a new sdd. the user guide says they only used for data drives ? what does that mean ?
I'm using the ssd for storing steam games and music only. no OS is attend to be installed.
is it okay to connect the ssd through the ASmedia connecter ??

You should have a fifth AMD SATA port over by the front-panel USB 3.0 connector. I'd suggest using that first.

Typically, the add-in controllers are a bit slower and have higher latency than the on-board ones, and potentially have driver issues that make them harder to boot from or install an OS from.

Using an SSD will be fine, though I'm not sure as to whether you can use an optical drive.
