asrock 970 extreme 3, amd fx 8350 compatibility

On the asrock site it does not list the CPU as being supported with the motherboard. Yet when I do a Google search, I have seen that people have used these two together. My question is will the processor and motherboard work right out of the box?

Well, even though it was slightly more expensive. I got the same motherboard but it was the rev2.0 version.

Newer Rev, is always a good thing, means something bad/out of date on old

Yes it will work, I am using AMD FX 8300 CPU with this motherboard but however you have to do BIOS update to using Vishera CPUs.

The FX-8300 is supported, however the original question posted in December 2013 was about a different unsupported processor.
