asrock 970de3/u3s3 will it run a AMD FX 6350

looking to make a slight change, some sites saying you can, some you cant.

Wondering if anybody knows for sure?

any help appreciated!

The board only supports up to 95W TDP CPUs The FX6350 is a 125W TDP chip.

Now, typically there's 'support' within a later BIOS revision, and the 6350 is socket-compatible
BUT
The board is only rated for 95W, meaning the power delivery/VRM etc is not sufficient for a >95W TDP.

The 6350 might "work", in the sense it'll post/boot to Windows.... but it's unlikely to be stable.

The 980DE3/U3S3 is, but that board supports up to 140W TDP CPUs
