Hi,

I have an Asrock B75M-DGS R2.0 motherboard and the CPU fan spins at full speed constantly. At first I thought I didn't install the CPU cooler (Arctic Freezer 13) properly so I re installed it and still the fans spin at full speed. The CPU fan is connected to CPU Fan 1 on the motherboard. The CPU tempt is average 30C so its not hot.

I checked bios and it has fan settings under h/w monitor. CPU Fan 1 Setting was set to full on which is about 2270rpm. I changed from full on to automatic mode which lets you choose from level 1 to 9. I changed it to level 1 which only brings the speed down to 1800rpm which is still to loud imo.

I installed a program called SpeedFan but it doesn't really work properly for me. I set the CPU to 30% which brings the fan to 1315rpm which sounds ideal. I set it to automatic but the fan doesn't speed up as the CPU gets hotter when I do a stress test on the CPU. Plus if I restart the pc The fan will go back to full speed again until I launch SpeedFan again.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Not sure what you can do there ...... I have the same ASRock B75M-DGS and absolutely loved it. I set the CPU fan speed to Automatic and Level1 to keep it quiet when not stressed. It should work. There is a utility that comes with the motherboard installation CD, 'ASRock eXtreme Tuner' which can also check the fan settings on Windows 7 without having to restart the PC.

Thanks I gave asrock extreme tuner a try, it works well but I managed to get speedfan working which offers more control. I had to turn on advanced fan control in the speedfan configuration settings.
