ASRock Extreme 3 Ram compatibility

I am on my first build, and just tried to install Windows 8.1, and I keep getting a "MACHINE_CHECK EXCEPTION" error. It goes to BIOS and everything is listed just fine, but Windows will load to about 1% and this error keeps coming up.

Here is my list of parts.
Motherboard- Asrock Extreme 3

Ram G.Skill Ares F3-1866C10D-16GAB

The ram is not listed as compatible on ASRock's website, but PCPartpicker shows no incompatibilities. Would the ram be causing this issue? Thanks for any help

I finally got it to work. My motherboard had Bios version 1.30. Flashed it to 1.40 and Windows installed and everything works fine. This is my first build and was getting a little impatient. How this helps someone else.
