asrock g41m vs3 r2.0 black screen on post

Ok system was running fine but today turned on got black screen on post tried f2 for menu still black screen, tried f11 for boot options black screen left things alone and it booted normaly,
so don't know why the splash screen for options did not show, have not installed anything new,
I needed to boot from cd but with black screen no menu, any help would bee appreciated

Try DEL for BIOS screen, and F12 for Boot Menu. Not sure if your saying you tried to boot to cd but got nothing but a black screen, or you coincidentally needed to boot from cd on the same day you booted your computer and it had a black screen.

Hi thanks for the info, on this motherboard it is f2 for bios setup and f11 for boot menu, normaly there is a flash screen giving me this info but that does not show, and if I press f2 or f11 still a black screen, I wanted to boot from acronis cd the backup my system but without a boot menu no can do, so when I turn on now and just leave it it does boot into windows, with a black screen until windows appears.
OK after many hours of frustration I found out what is wrong but not how to fix it properly,
I have a Nvidia gforce gt 610 graphics card with my monitor pluged into the vga connector, and my tv in another room into the hdmi connector, if I take the hdmi out I get my post screen, but when I plug it in the post screen goes through to the tv set in the other room, and leaves a blank screen on the pc untill windows starts, then everything works ok on my pc and tv, so now I know if I need to boot from cd, make sure the hdmi cable is disconnected, bit of a pain but best I can do.
