[SOLVED] Asrock h310- dvs memory speeds

Hi basically i have a sngular stick of 8gb corsair vengeance 3000mghz ram, bought before i changed last minute to this motherboard due to costs. It only runs it at 2133, but i have since overclocked it to 2667 stable. However im looking to upgrade to 16gb in total i was wondering due to the mobo cap on stock speeds could i purchase a cheaper stick of8gb vengeance ram at a lower speed (2133/2666), then overclock them both to same speed to achieve dual channel and correct ram timings?? many thanks

Maybe?

Generally, mixing ram is a bad idea, and it may have poor results. There is really no way to say it will work or it won't.

Probably not overclock 2x different modules considering they might not even run together.

hmm i think ill have to think about it cos i did mix ram in my old pc and that was completely stable i never had any issues but i never even knew about ram timings and such but it was 8+4gb so i douibt it was in dual channel. Im thinking i may just chanve it it should proly run just the speeds is concerning me

DDR4 is not as forgiving as DDR3 or DDR2.
