[SOLVED] ASROCK H81M-DG4

Yes it is fine.
If you're already running a 730, you'd be fine with most modern GPUs, all you really need is the PCIe x16 slot for it to be technically compatible, it's just some much older boards can sometimes struggle to run the latest GPUs.

A 1030 should be fine.

Ok thank u , but i have one more question
how can i tell if the gt 1030 will fit in there
i checked the size on the producer site and the lenght of the 1030 is bigger with one cm
it might sound dumb

Size of the GPU will depend on the case, not the motherboard. The Pcie x16 slot is a standard size.

Not dumb at all my friend, we all start at some point :)

Ok guys change of plans
I won t buy the gt 1030 anymore at least i don t to, i checked a rx 550 4gb gddr5 and i was wondering if the gpu is too ,,high-end" for my rig
Intel pentium g3250 3.2 ghz
6 gb ram dual chanel dram frequency 666 mhz
Asus gt 730 2gb ddr3
Asrock h81m dg4
Seagate barracuda 1tb
And psu raidmax of 420W

Agreed with WildCard don't spend the extra money if you don't need to.
And your PSU isn't overly great for gaming PCs.

Being as it sounds like you're now getting into the whole PC gaming biz, you may find a guide I made (where WildCard has contributed too) useful, and it will also show you in the first point why we would hesitate with your power supply!

Download and install the newest drivers after installing the 1030. During installation there's an option to "perform a clean installation", check that box. What it does is uninstalls the old drivers and then installs the newest. This ensures there's no conflicting drivers.

If you get no display after you swapped out the cards then make sure the 1030 is installed correctly. You may need to update the BIOS if there is no display however don't update it unless you absolutely have to. When updating the BIOS there's always a rare chance that you may brick the motherboard essentially turning it into a paperweight and trying to find a replacement board could be pricey.

After i mount the new gpu nvidia will detect it ?
I m asking this cuz i want to kno what i need to do for the new driver
It s ok if i download it from geforce experience
Windows should detect the new GPU however I wouldn't use Nvidia Geforce Experience to install the new driver (at least not the first time). Get the newest from Nvidia then during installation download Nvidia Geforce Experience.
