Hey all,
A few months ago I purchased an ASRock H97M Anniversary motherboard and built a computer without a VGA card and it's been working fine. Recently I tried putting an Asus Geforce 750 Ti in it, and I've been facing some issues that I can't resolve via searching the web.
I put the card in the PCI 3.0 slot, hook up a 6-pin connector from the power supply (600W), and when I attempt to power on the computer, nothing happens. The computer doesn't turn on at all, but the power light on the VGA card is green.
Everything I've come across online where people have similar issues, people suggest something along the lines of a BIOS update. It seems like these people get the computer to start but don't get a display. Am I correct to believe that this can't be a BIOS issue, as I can't even get the computer to power on to begin with?
I tested the card in another PC, and it works. The computer runs fine again if there isn't any graphics card in it. I tested it with a Geforce 970, and pretty much the same thing happens. So it seems to be a PCI slot issue? But I already sent an RMA to ASRock explaining the issue, and they sent me a different(?) board which still isn't working in the same way. I'm just wondering if anyone has any other ideas before I go contacting ASRock again (and having to wait again for another board).
