Question ASRock mobo & Be Quiet cooler

Hey everyone,

I'm about to buy an ASRock X670E Pro RS motherboard along with a Ryzen 9 7900 CPU.
As the TDP is quite low I'm probably not looking for the most powerful cpu cooler/fan, rather something that just fits in my case, which is a rackable 4U: https://techly.com/chassis-industrial-rack-19-desktop-4u-ultra-compact-black.html
Thing is, I only have roughly 9cm available in height, what about a Be Quiet! Shadow Rock LP ?
I'm worried the cooler may be too large for the RAM, even if I use A2/B2 only (I don't even know if that would be possible to not use A1/B1 - edit: in between I found the info that A2/B2 must be used anyway: https://www.asrock.com/microsite/LearnMoreAboutAM5/index.asp).

Many thanks for any help!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

IMHO, these are scenario's where you can use an AIO since the case does have a 120mm fan mount off to the side(atop where the motherboard's EPS connectors usually go;

Have you measure the internals with a scale/ruler?

I own the Be Quiet! Shadow Rock LP, it's been sitting on my shelf for a long while. The rams will get in the way regardless of what slots get populated. You have effectively 31.7mm of clearance before you hit the heatsink's fins. You could rerate the orientation of the cooler to have the exposed heatpipes facing the ram slots but the VRM heatsink might impede the cooler's installation.

There is an alternative if you can't go tower style;
Look at the AXP90-X53's range of coolers.

A possibility may be the Noctua NH-L12Sx77. All of the heatpipes are on one side so there's more clearance under the radiator; they provide you with a low profile 15mm thick fan; and if you can mount the fan on top of the radiator there's even more clearance for ram. Or possibly the Noctua NH-L12S slightly shorter with a little less cooling.

(In such situations I use the G.Skill Ripjaws ram since they're only 33mm high. I think 31.2mm is the shortest ram available).

Thanks both. It looks like it's easier to get Noctua in Switzerland and I can easily get the model you mention but isn't it as big (and hence problematic in my use-case) as the Be Quiet! Shadow Rock LP ?

Regarding the ram I wanted to get some Corsair Vengeance 2 x 32GB, 6000 MHz, RAM DDR5, DIMM (CMK64GX5M2B6000Z30) - height 35 mm.
