Ryzen 5 7600
ASRock B650M Pro RS Wifi
32 GB G.Skill FlareX5 RAM
Gigabyte RTX 4060

I just built this system. It was working fine for days, then suddenly.... When I first turn on the computer I get 5 beeps and two lower red lights on MB (which I believe are VGA and BOOT), but then after a 1 second pause there is a 6th beep. The screen is dark for many seconds until finally suddenly the login screen comes on and everything works fine after that. I'm typing this right now on this rig. This happens now EVERY time I boot up, exactly the same way.

I've read that the 5 beeps means no VGA detected, which is consistent with the red lights. But clearly the GPU finally kicks in. Why is this happening, where it doesn't detect the GPU at first but then suddenly many seconds later it does? Is this a BIOS thing? Or is the GPU not installed correctly? But how can this be if this works after a few seconds? And how could it be completely consistent every time?

Erg - I think I solved it. The HDMI was slightly, very slightly loose on the monitor itself. I tried doing your suggestion of the onboard graphics it didn't help, but then double checked the monitor connection. So I'm guessing this created some kind of unusual voltage configuration on the HDMI.

Now I am not getting the 5 beeps at all after 6 restarts / cold shut downs.

I got an Acer KG241Y 1080p monitor on a big sale, and it had been recommended on more than one review site. Yeah, so the HDMI port on this monitor is not great, not only is it vertical plug in but it doesn't really "click" into place like HDMI does on almost every port. So gravity can literally pull the HDMI out. The black on this monitor isn't deep enough either, but that's what you get for less money. Idk, it's good enough that I'll keep it as a 2nd monitor and you could tape the cable in, but I probably won't buy this company again.

it really varies with hdmi some hdmi are pigs and have oversized plastic that weights down the hdmi. the other issue you can get with this issue is the hdmi plastic interfering with the back of the pc case or the ports slightly obscured which means adjust the graphic card then holding it in place while tightening.

Wow, that sounds annoying to deal with.
