Recently, I purchased an iBUYPOWER PC for my wife from NewEgg. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227605

Great computer, and it was good for the price. However we're having an issue. Currently, if you turn on the computer after it's been off for a few hours and the monitor is plugged into the PCI-E card, the display doesn't turn on. If I unplug the cord from the PCI-E card and move it to the onboard video card, I can see the screen display and the desktop. Strange right?

I check the device manager, and it says that I don't have a PCI-E card installed. Also checked dxdiag to be sure and it doesn't show there either. The fans are still going on the PCI-E card, but it wasn't being used.

So I turn off the computer and restart it. The video isn't displaying when I have the monitor plugged into the onboard video..so I switch it back to the PCI-E card, and it's working!

I checked the BIOS as well, and it's already setup to use the primary PCI-E slot instead of the onboard video. I also updated the BIOS just to make sure I was up to date. (Why not?)

I've removed the card and reseated it and that didn't fix it.

I'm unsure where I should go from here.

Thank you

Your motherboard is having an issue. It should look to the PCIe slot since it is default. Some things I would try is to replace the motherboard bios battery as it my be failing and the mother board is reseting to default. If that doesn't make a difference I would see if there is a bios update for the motherboard. Sometimes an update will correct a problem. Otherwise I would consider getting a replacement motherboard. Get the same one e so you don't have to reload windows.
