HI all I am having an issue with this new board I bought as title shows it is the ASRock p67 Fatal1ty board.
here is list of everything in build:
I5-2500k @4.7ghz
2 MSI GTX 460 TwinFrozr 2 SOC SLI
4x2g Gskill ECO 1600 CL7
Corsair 750 HX psu
H50 cooler
Antec 902 case
3 antec 120mm in push pull config w/ 200mm on top
Spinpoint F3 1tb
hp dvd-rw

ok problem is in the new bios thing I try to set ram to 1600mhz as should be. I get DR Debug code 45 and pc stalls and I have to manually shutdown.
I can only run ram at 1333mhz and with auto settings.
I have ran prime95 for 36 hours so I have a stable system.
I have ran memtest on every stick of ram and all passed.
I am currently running bios 1.70 for mobo.
I have clean install of win 7 64 pro.
Please help cause I am at wits end.
Before you ask yes the ram is on site saying it is compatible.
I have tried everything I can think of ex: running cpu at stock and then trying to switch timings of ram. negative ; ;help........

My second p67 Fatal1ty Pro has similar symptoms. Only with 1 stick OK (have not tried to change freq.), but with both code 45.

But it's after ~3 months of use and last time was not a weak heating (few hours in Bad Company 2 and I have MSI GTX 580 Twin Frozr II with OC up to 900 MHz and 1.125 V and almost all that heat blows into the case).

But it was my last ASRock, enough for me. Today-tomorrow I'll try MSI P67A-GD80.

I RMA'd the Asus Z68 Pro V which was not working. My new board is the AsRock Z68 Extreme 4 Gen 3 and it is working fantastically well. I can highly recommend this board. Sorry you had bad luck with your P67 board. It seems that almost any manufacturer can put out a faulty board, none are exempt - even lofty names like Asus.

I'v updated BIOS with one mem stick - null result.

But now I have MSI P67A-GD80 and yes, this MB much better (esp. voltage regulation and heatsink temp).

And as I sad, I had TWO dead ASRock P67 PROFESSIONAL FATAL1TY, first was RMA-like, second - I don't know what to do with that, I will try to RMA or something and then sell it.

I am sorry that you could not get it repaired. It is good news that your new MSI board is working well. I wish you the best.

Hey all I'm also having a problem whith this motherboard but its not Dr.debug code 45
for me its 30 and in the manual it says "Reserved for ASL (see ASL Status Codes section below)"

My parts are
2x4GB G.Skill Ripjaws 1,5V
Intel Core i7-2600K 3,4GHz
OCZ PowerSupply (PSU) ZX Series 1000W
MSI Radeon HD 6970 2GB'

have been struggling whith my build since i got the G.Skill rams, before them i used 1x4GB Corsair XMS3 Vengeance and the Asus ROG Maximus IV Extreme. Had no problems until i got the G.Skill rams whitch made the BIOS in my maximus go into a S3 sleep state bug and I couldnt fix it so i changed it to the ASRock Fatal1ty mb.

Since I still cant boot properly im thinking it may not be a mb problem? When i start the computer all fans start spinning but the screen is still idle and there is no beep. Is it possible that any of the hardware is asleep from the last mb bug?
Any1 got any suggestions on what to do?

Hi 🙂

You will get much better results if you start your own thread. Also, after you do it may take a day or two for people to start answering you.

I am not the most skilled poster to help your trouble-shooting and I apologize for that. Gskill RAM should not change your BIOS settings for sleep - are you sure that the RAM was the problem? The Asus board you have is supposed to be a pretty good board.

I hope that you get it solved. Make sure your RAM is in the right slots and seated correctly.

Interesting stuff, thanks for posts. 😀

Have been searching for information regarding very similar symptoms you all have experienced. not much out there however.....! The Story:

asrock p67 extreme4
i5 2500k
t120 hsf
ddr3 patriot 16000 @ 2kMHz 2x4gb
ocz 850 watt psu
nvidia 560 ti
rest is not important.

computer would shut down for no reason after a few minutes to after a few hours. no errors. upon powering it back on, no post. nothing. power was good. fan and drives spinning. no overheating that i could tell.

first time i had set correct timings on ram (9-11-9-27 etc etc) , got into os and installing drivers, and then it took a dive. assumed this was the problem. unplugged power, moved ram into other channel, reset board. kept the ram on auto in bios (-.-) and was working great. gameplay for hours etc etc. then when installing drivers again (unrelated to prev. drivers) took a dive yet again. wash, rinse, repeat, ram now back in original channels (blues), and again working great.

at a loss as to what is causing it. no codes to go off of either..... debating whether to rma mobo or to see how long i can go like this. ill start tweaking cpu and ram after a few days, keep the stock for now, see what happens, ill respond if i learn something new.

Hi,

I'm having the same obscure error 45. Only Single Channel mode (combination of slots doesn't matter) is working with 2xGB memory sticks. My system was running fine for 5 months without any adjustments in the BIOS concerning memory or overclocking. I replaced the board with a new one, again a P67 Extreme 4. Same problem, so I tend to think it's not the board. Or it's faulty again, I don't know :-( Running in single channel memtest86+ does not report any errors so I assume the memory sticks are ok.

I have the Extreme 4 board and I do not think that is your problem. Once in a while my computer will shut down - this occurs when I am operating Windows Media Center (WMC). I am not sure that the computer is the fault at all in my case. I think it is a software problem with WMC.

Be careful with blaming the motherboard for these issues - it may not be the problem. The fact that it is showing a 45 error does not mean it is faulty.

Quick example: my computer had random booting problems and the boot order in the bios would change by itself. A mobo problem right? After months of trouble-shooting I found out my Maxtor external HDD was interfering with the boot sequence somehow. When I disconnected the problem went away. This may be because the Maxtor HDD has no current software / driver support. As a result, the archaic drivers are not compatible with my new 2600K system.

This offers little help to your specific problem - I realize that. However, my point is that it may not be the mobo OR the RAM. Unfortunately, some computer problems can be hard to trouble-shoot.

That's so true, unfortunately. What I can say: it's not a software problem, the error is shown on the MoBo even before the BIOS screen is coming up and even with default factory settings. So it must be a hardware problem. I don't think it's a general incompatibility issue as the board was running with the same hardware and ram fine for 5 months.

I've attempted everything. Whether it was that easy I'd haven't published.

It's something related to the brand new UEFI. Used to do first publish also it offered me a default extreme ram config whic I never set. I totally reset everything, drawn battery etc. Nothing works best for the ram in config. I usually get error code on DR Debug 45 and system freeze. hard reboot after which obvious cmos button on back panel.

I've checked out every forum i just read. OCC, anadatech, overclock.internet etc. I come here because most come from same places and frequent same forums.

Yes, it is really a new board however, many folks should have same board and published some error like mine. I've BSOD 3 occasions since intial publish and also have fixed it by current increase.

I'll publish current config for bios tomorrow as it is so late.

I understand some:

Things are manual

all C-states are off

4.7ghz for moment lol

1.4v

turbo energy limit: 180 short , 140 lengthy dur 1 sec

internal PLL overvolt enable

speedstep : en

pch volt: 1.012

cpu PLL volt: 1.857

VTT: 1.116

VCCSA: .925

Is your system freezing during the boot up?

Also there are two suggestions listed in this thread - one is changing the mobo out with AsRock. The other is adjusting the RAM.

I had the same issue asrock z68 extreme 7 gen3 - code 45.

I popped out all 4 memory sicks - 4X4gb= 16gb corsair - put on in the slot farthest from the CPU. The it booted normally.

The cleaned up the other sticks and put them back in - first just one more - booted - then added the other 2 - and it worked.

So, i suspect it is an intermittent memory problem and i'll see it again. At least now i know the drill and what code 45 means - THANKS to this forum for providing the answer to my problem!
