I recently had my asrock MB fail, and I got an RMA. I installed the chip, fan, and ram. I continue to get a stall on booting with the Debug code of 7. I have cleared the cmos numerous times. I have tried different configurations of the RAM modules. The first that I tried was in slots A2/B2, which is the 2 module configuration. I know the modules work, because they worked in the previous MB and they work in my Designare TRx4. When I look up the error code, it basically is some issue with the RAM. I have tried flashing the bios.

Any suggestions?

Update: I received the replacement CPU from AMD. Brand new apparently. The seals on the box were not broken. Anyway, now everything works fine.

My take home from this experience regarding the error code 07, or I would imagine any other RAM related code, is that there is a possibility that the issue may be with the CPU rather than the MB, as this type of CPU as well as some of the other new ones, control RAM function. And so a RAM error code could certainly come from it if it fails, as well as from the RAM itself or the MB itself.

Now I'll get the MB into a hew rig and go from there. Wish me luck. I think the worst is behind me.
It actually came with 3.8. I did inspect the board for bent pins, and I didn't see any. I...
Inspect the CPU socket for any bent or broken pins.

I have tried flashing the bios.
You speak of flashing the BIOS, which BIOS version did you reflash the board with? Was there any sticker on the motherboard to state what BISO version it came shipped with? Perhaps the RMA team might be able to tell you what was sent out? CPU support list for that motherboard states that 2950x is supported after BIOS version 3.1, which is missing from their BISO support list. I'd advise on going with BIOS version 3.2 as that's the closest version above 3.1.

Did you follow instructions mentioned in your motherboard manual, page 30?

It actually came with 3.8. I did inspect the board for bent pins, and I didn't see any. I re-seated the CPU. I attempted to re-flash the bios, using the button on the board. The manual stated that after the button stops flashing, if it stays lit then the bios flashback is not operating properly. It stayed lit.
