Asrock X58 Extreme6 with Xeon E5520

hello all,

just wondering is there any bros has the experiences with this old mobo?

I'm using this now and wanna to change the CPU to Xeon E5520 (socket 1366)....

however, when I plug this CPU to my mobo, the CPU fan and display card fan runs no problem, but no display show up....

when I put back my previous CPU (i7, socket 1366), it runs with no problem at all....

Not sure it's related to BIOS / CPU microcode or not.... anyone can give me a hand on this issue? many thanks!!!

Hi, Is the CPU new or bought from ebay?
Running the latest BIOS version?
The CPU is not on the Support List, so it might be a BIOS support issue.

At first, I think it's the CPU issue, I brought to the shop and they use another mobo to test (gigabyte), it can shows to BIOS screen at least... which means probably my mobo issue...

I already update the BIOS to the latest (P1.6) but same result.... I think maybe the BIOS issue, but I've no clues on that, I tried MMTOOL but no related information I can refer or modify....
