i'm new to this group and would like to get advice on my problem.

i purchased a new X870 Pro RS wifi motherboard with 4x32GB Kingston DDR5 RAM and AMD Ryzen 7 8700G CPU. But it only gave me black screen and i found the CPU and DRAM diagnostic LED light were always on. I did the below troubleshooting steps but no help.

1. Boot up only CPU, one DDR5 RAM and with/without M.2 memory
2. Plug in display card but still black screen
3. Flash the BIOS to the latest version that was downloaded from Asrock web site
4. Reinstall the CPU and RAM

Whatever how many RAM that i installed, the DRAM LED was on (no memory, only one or 2 and 4)

I'm not sure which parts are going wrong. Welcome for any suggestion

You could have a bent pin, on the motherboard, that is keeping this from working. What ram kit specifically did you buy? Keep in mind 4x sticks of DDR5 typically does not work, on AM5 or Intel's platforms, without some serious underclocking of the memory.

Need full system specs, including make/model of power supply.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

For the testing, i only used 1 DDR5 RAM but the DRAM LED still on (Actually, even no RAM, 1, 2 or 4 plug in, still the same)

Memory is from Kingston KVR56U46BD8-32
Power is coolermaster V750 that worked well with my previous motherboard (ASrock X370 and other hardwares)

i have already tried a clean system, only CPU, 1 slot of RAM with or without the boot disk, still no video output. I also tried by using display card, result still the same.

It seems that when the power is ON, there is no POST test, only the CPU FAN, system FAN and motherboard LED are ON.

Finally, i figured out the problem.

After a series of testing, i found that the issue is from the memory. The motherboard comes with 4 DDR5 memory slot, but only 2 of them (A1 and A2) are able to support my memory (Kingston double sides 32GB DDR5) The other 2 slots B1 and B2 can't work with the memory even i just used them to boot up the computer, it is no video output.

I can install W11 on the M.2 memory but it can't detect most of the internal HD that are connected via onboard SATA port and M.2 SATA connector. Then i unplug one of the SATA cable from M.2 SATA connector and connect it to PCI-E SATA card, everything works.

So far for more than 1 day, everything works fine and video output problem has gone.

My feeling is that Asrock should do a better docmentation. I followed their suggestion from manual to use B2 and A2 slot (Pg 27) for boot up, it never worked. They should add more information about the troubleshooting.....

Hope it is useful if you come across same problem liked me

If only a1 and a2 are working you will be running in single channel mode for the memory which will leave a lot of performance on the table.

Did you buy 2 x 2 32gb kits or was it a kit of 4 memory sticks? I would double check the version numbers of the memory as despite the model number matching they can actually have different memory modules in them. Corsair are notorious for this but unsure of Kingston. Worth checking to see if the kits have been mixed up. I take it your use case requires you to have 128gb ram?

As mentioned above though I would check the cpu socket to ensure there are no bent pins as this is a common cause of memory issues - certainly when losing a memory channel. Worth checking to rule this out as a cause
