I'm considering upgrading to a 6600k cpu with the ASRock Z170 Extreme4 motherboard. However, I'm uncertain if I'll be able to run SLI in the future if I decide to get a PCIe SSD.
The CPU has 16 lanes (2x8 for SLI), which would leave no lanes for a PCIe SSD at x4. However, I've read that the Z170 chipset might leave 4 lanes open for storage use? Would I be able to run SLI at x8 while running a PCIe SSD at x4 using the mentioned motherboard?
Thanks in advance for any feedback
