I don't know where my last post went but the 6+ would do just as well as the gaming version...

They're both great boards. I am deciding between the same boards as you. But after further reading from Anandtech, I have decided to go with the Extreme 6+. The Gaming K6+ uses USB v1.1 for the gaming mouse port. There are better gaming mouses than Asrock and who else uses USB v1.1 mouse? I've decided on the Extreme 6+ MB.

I've also read the Qualcomm software suite package is 500 megs of bloatware, although you could just download the E2400 drivers from Atheros. If you have a router you can use that to enable QoS to prioritize your packets instead of running a software in the background.

The Gaming K6+ does offer memory and VGA bus that are gold plated to reduce oxidation. The K6 also has a Thunderbolt 2 header on the MB but I am not sure what what other ports you have to give up if you enable the Thunderbolt 2 port, maybe both Sata 3 express ports?
