[SOLVED] ASRock z390 TaiChi Ultimate DDR4 only working in B1 and B2

Hello,
I just bought a used Taichi Ultimate and I am unable to get the memory sticks to work in any slots other than B1 and B2. I tried dual channel. I also tried A1 and A2. I also tried all four slots (I have two sets, although I mismatched the sets in Dual Channel so I'll have to retry this).

My guess is that the previous owner might have put in DDR3 or DDR2 and damaged the board, but I wanted to hear other thoughts.

Check CPU socket pins and installation. Make sure it is all perfect, if still same issue, most likely it is a defective motherboard.

When I find time, I'm going to take everything apart so that I can look at the CPU pins a little more closely. I'm thinking maybe this is the issue, but if not I'll probably proceed on the notion that the Mobo is bad and just use it until it annoys me enough to buy another one.
