Hello guys i just bought an z68 gen3 pro3 mobo which supports pci e 3.0.

Ok now i just found out ati has released gpu hd 7850 which is pci-e 3.0(which i didnt know)
plus its quite affordable so i just need to know if there will be any problems using this mobo and gpu together?

i need to know if it will be 100% working good else ill go to nvidia.

so thanx in advance

Solution
For now. All Z68 Mobo's support Ivy Bridge. ASRock will get a bios update out that will allow the install of an Ivy Bridge chip in the next couple of months.
Yes, that board will support that card just fine.

But you do realise that to get PCIe3.0, you have to have a Ivy bridge CPU installed. If you have a sandy bridge, it will still run at PCIe2.0.

Ok guys 1 last question i hope it wont sound stupid😛
Since i have the z68 now and it has an pcie 3 port do you think i can mount a ivy bridge cpu on it?cause if not it confuses me a little why build a mobo with pcie when u cant use it...thnx

though if you look at asrock Product Specifications here->>http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=Z68%20Pro3%20Gen3&cat=Specifications
you will notice this " Supports 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ i7 / i5 / i3 in LGA1155 Package"

KK m8 thank u so much for your posts you really opened my eyes i hadnt noticed this about pcie 3..some small details do the dif tho 😛
So now i brought my z68 mobo back it was unused still and ordered ASUS P8Z77-V LE +i5 3570k which will be in my hands on friday :pt1cable: :pt1cable:
