Asrock Z77 Extreme4 - Still viable?

Exactly what the title says.

As of right now, that's my motherboard.

Could it handle me dropping an i7-8700k in it and then OCing it? I know I would need to upgrade my current cooling, as well.

I just want to know if I HAVE to buy a new mobo, or if this one is good enough, potentially.

Of course, this could all be moot, as I may move on to using AMD in my next build, anyway.

The 8700K (1151) won't fit into that socket (1155), plus you'd need DDR4 and that motherboard only supports DDR3.

Sell it, grab a Z370 or Z390 & DDR4 @2666mhz to use that 8700K.
